I'm having a hard time getting some of the scum off my boat, inside and out and was wandering what you guys used to clean your boats with thats not too harsh for polished aluminum and chrome.

If you have problems on your hull use some toilet bowl cleaner, it takes the scum and hard water deposits clean off, i use the cheap stuff and it works wonders, just apply and wash off! And it's not harsh on your hull unlike the exspensive stuff you can get that cleans your hull but also takes off your gel coat.

The Work.....WORKS...This takes all the water scum off your boat....Clean you boat real good then ....Wax it......

Aluma-brite its harsh and not for use everytime but it will give you a good base to start clean

To clean the nonskid I use orpine boat soap. If that will not take it off I use bar keepers friend (you can get it at any grocery store in the cleaner section). It is also good to clean metal. Do not use it on any glossy sections of the boat. Once I get my boat spotless I use woody wax on the non skid and metals. It makes the next couple of cleanings a breeze and also protects metals from corrosion. I like to keep my boat looking new so I have done alot of homework to find the best products to use.

starbrite hull cleaner(muratic acid) from walmart works great....put on with a sponge...wait a couple min then rinse it off...

muric acid is pretty much all that aluma-brite is. I also have mine waxed as it helps keep the scum off.

yeah that star brite works well. just dont get down wind and breath it. burns sensitive parts of skin also.
