went to go start my 4 wheeler up today and it wouldnt start. I drained the gas and put some new gas cause it had been in there for probably 6 months. The last time i started it was about a month or two ago and i shut off the fuel and ran it all out of the motor. I checked that im getting spark and gas is getting in the carb. It just keeps turning over and never fires up though. Any help would be appreciated it is a 2003 yamaha wolverine

trash in the carb...id put a new plug in it too!! theres a screw at the bottom of the carb bowl to drain it, open it up a lil to make sure fuel is getting through the float valve if so and it still will not crank pull the carb and clean

Sounds like carb may be varnished over or trash. If you don't get it going give me a shout, I'll ride by one evening after work & help ya check it out. Got a lil experience with yammy atv carbs, sometimes a lil B12 or the jets blown out will do the trick.

seamfoam usually works for me with 4stroke carbs depending how bad its gummed up!

So I went to take the carb off to clean it and the air box had some gas in it  Is this due to a stuck float?

So I went to take the carb off to clean it and the air box had some gas in it  Is this due to a stuck float? If air box has gas in it, it's flooding, Needle valve must be sticking or gummed up & bowl is filling up. Get some B12 & spray through the jets & let soak then spray again, just dont get the B12 on any rubber o rings, gaskets or diaphram.

Jeff.....would some "Carb cleaner" work just as well and not have to worry about the O-rings?

B12 is goooood stuff. Regular carb cleaner will work just may take a little longer to dissolve any trash or varnish.

I have to agree that B-12 is the way to go! It works fast and in a hurry!

Just went and bought a fresh can of it this morning. My dad's edger is idling up and down. I figure he has some trash or varnish in the carb. B-12 is the stuff...:work:

if you got oil in the airbox you better check ya oil also..if its flooding that bad then the gas can get into the crankcase

just my "OPINION" but I dont think that B-12 is worth the price difference of cheap carb cleaner, I keep a half a case of carb cleaner in my shop all the time for only 1.99 a can ORIELLY brand and 4.99 - 5.99 for the name brand stuff, I dont believe it works any faster, again just my opinion!

Add a little B12 to your gas also.
