Im thinking about getting a new shotgun but dont want to break the bank? The gun will be used 90% of the time to duck hunt. Anybody have any first hand use of a auto loader thats not above $700? I was looking at a Remington spr 453 3.5". But not sure

It will be tough for you to get a quality auto (get one that shoots 3-1/2") for under $700. My have to try to find a used one.

yep....$700 will be tough....save some money & spend $300 on the Remington or Benelli pumps or keep saving and spend big on a nice auto loader. Brownings or Berrettas are around $1100.

i have a berretta 390. love it. they don't make the 390 anymore, but the 3901 is the same thing. this is the same gun that a lot of the outfitters use in argentina for dove hunts, if that tells you anything. not sure of the exact cost, but it should be close. doesn't shoot 3.5's would be about the only drawback, but i never shot them throught the guns that i had that were capable anyway. there's my $.02.

You'd be better off saving some $$$ and getting a Benelli Super Black Eagle II...

I shoot a Remington Spr 453/Baikel. It has never jammed on me. I used for duck hunting and dove hunting. My only problem with the gun is it doesn't eject the 3.5 inch shells well. But, there is a gas adjustment to remedy this situation. I just don't shoot the bruisers enough for me to adjust the gas. It is a good gun for the money. Check this short clip of how tough the Baikel is... http://www.svmag.com/test_baikal.wmv

Good point, you may be able to get the Winchester for your price range. Its the same gun as the Gold 3 1/2 just different stock design from what I remember.

I think my uncle paid under 800 for his.

I had one of the first super black eagles and it was a good gun. Now I got the berretta xtremer 2 and it is a way better gun , my 2 cents. I do alot of shooting in a season and this gun has not failed yet

A few years ago Winchester came out with the X2 I believe is the name. This is was the newer version of the autoloader X model. Sharp lookiing guns. I know a few people that have the X models and they all love them. For the new X2 if you get a camo model it will run you at least $1,100 -1,200.
