The Sulphur Fireman are sponsoring a fishing tournament this weekend benefiting MDA and Parkinson's Disease Research. The tournament has a slightly different format where the biggest trout wins $500 but there are additional 3 payouts where an angler adds his/her biggest 3 trout for a total weight. There is also a 3 place payout for redfish adding 2 biggest. Kids fish free and have their own 3 place payout for both speck and red.

I just read this on ReelReports.com. Does anyone have any information on this tourney? Rules, divisions, entry fees, times? It's apparently @ calcasieu point this Saturday.

Largest Speckled trout-$500
Heaviest Speckled trout by aggregate- 1st is $500, 2nd is $250, 3rd is $100
Heaviest Red Fish by Aggregate- 1st is $500, 2nd is $250, 3rd is $100
Youth Division: 17 and under- 1 single trout and 1 red fish- 1st is $100, 2nd is $75, 3rd is $50 in each

It is individual fishing. Each person can weigh 3 fish for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the trout weigh-in for heaviest. Largest trout is 1 single fish for 1st place only. For Redfish it is 2 fish that can be weighed in for heaviest 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. It is individual weigh in. If three registered fishermen want to weigh-in same fish it will only be counted as one weigh-in and all three register weigh cards will go together as one, they have to agree to that on their own to split or whatever. No fish will be weighed twice. No mutilated or altered fish will be weighed.

Slots on the Reds makes it a lot more interesting.
