Has anyone else noticed that you are mainly catching spotted bass on the Calcasieu this time of year?? They takin' over? I've never caught this many spotted bass on the river

Caught quite a few today in Pierre Part. Seemed like more spotted bass than anything.

I like how they violently attack a bait, they fun to catch. I haven't caught one in a while.

Are they Spotted bass or Kentucky bass......or are these the same fish?

I could be wrong,but I think spotted and kentucky bass are the same.

I've been told, some black bass can have a tooth patch also. Another telling feature, the jaw does not extend past their eyes.

But is the black spot rough like sand paper? I caught a couple of fatties in the 2.5 lb range a few weeks ago at toledo on a big crankbait. Fighting footballs!!

Took some pics of what I've been calling spotted bass.. I'll email to someone to post in a.m.
