I'm thinking about buying a S&W MP15-22. Anyone know what I need like a FFL, be 21, or anything else or can I just buy it. It'll mostly be used for plinking and getting used to ARs as I'm thinking about re enlisting with my buddy Denova.

dang yall are harsh on a handicap cripple kid! Iron boy, its a 22 rifle you can buy it at 18 along with the ammo, the only thing special about this gun is that it looks like an ar. its not a class 3 weapon, and a FFL is the license that a gun dealer has to have! you can go buy a ruger 10/22 with a bull barrel, a couple good mags and I bet it will shoot just as good if not better, but then again if you want an AR get the real thing!

anyone ever looked at the little Mossburg .22 that is kinda modeled after an AR, looked at one at Bass Pro and they are only around $200, wouldn't be bad just to drag in the woods on an atv.

That .22 is a waste of money, as I see it. It reminds me of those cheap tech 9 lookalikes except they charge the heck out you for it! Get the real deal or just go get the Ruger 10-22. That is a very good gun with a lot of history to prove it.

if you are a into tatical style shooting its the cheapest way to practice. .22 cheaper than 5.56 or .223...You can put just about any accessory you can put on an AR.

I wouldn't buy it for self defense.

i agree but these rifles are carbon copies of an AR style rifle. Helps to learn to shoot that style. Good way to introduce a younger person into shooting as the rifles are smaller adjustable stock etc.

I got the S&W MP 15 already,I just need the .22 conversion kit and I got best of both worlds. If it was my money I would save up and got that route. But I still say if you just want a .22 the 10/22 is the best way .With all the upgrades now you can build it to look almost just like an AR or just about anything else you can imagine.

IM,

I have one sweet little gun.. You can go and get one at 18.. It's just like buying any other gun you don't have to have a spacial license.. As long as you pass back ground check..
We shoot competition with them and try are the best out of any .22 ar.. Just make sure you shoot CcA or higher made 22 bullets out of them nothing cheaper...

I know its american made, ive read some good reviews and saw some cool video on you tube. You can also get a laser and flashlight attatchment for it, and they make larger 15rd clips.

Ive never liked the look of the hi point pistols. They looked as cheap as they actually are. Always sketched me out, as in I didnt trust the quality. Never shot one though. I like that 9 though.
