Looking to buy a yak in a few months. What would be a good one to buy that will hold a few decoys, a dong and me?

If you carrying a dog, you will need something stable and that is sit on tip.
Diablo is very very stable and roomy. Check them out.

Good stable yaks are not cheap.
You can get a good fiberglass pirogue for about $400 to $500.
Not many people hunt out of yaks. That I know of.
And not many yaks are made for hunting.

go to YouTube as well search "hunting kayaks" you will see many ideas there.
Check out Creek Boats on the web as well.

They have some 13' gheenoes at pack and paddle that look good for hunting. I'm not sure how well they paddle but a little motor would be perfect. Maybe even a trolling motor.

You can get some hands-on kayak practice at Greenwood Park in Baker,,,Feb 25th. THE BACKPACKER will have several kayaks to choose from.

Malibu makes some stable yaks that hold some good weight. Keep a look out for used one for sale on LKFC or BCKFC. Always try to demo before you buy. Check with Pack and Paddle when next demo day is.

Did you settle on anything? Pack and paddle has a "new" nu canoe model that looks ideal for hunting and hauling all the stuff you mentioned.

bass pro has a kind of "kayak" so to speak that is just for hunting. has a gun rack on it, decoy slots, shell shelf. pretty sweet. wish I had one.
