I have long appreciated the Cajun/Zydeco brand of music . . . mama bought me an I-Pod and I have been loading it with my stuff . . . I currently have Rufus Thibodeaux, Iry LeJune, Wayne Toups, Beausoleil and Beaux Jocque . . . Can someone suggest newer stuff . . . I would appreciate it . . .

High Performance Band is amazing! Also, Johnnie Sonnier "Chere Alice" is the best song on the planet hands down, although all of his music is good.. If you like country music, check out Mike Dean. He has an awesome sound. Real beer drinkin music. The Band Courtbouillon is an allstar line up that makes more traditional Cajun music.

The little guy from Westlake looks like he won't make my Pod . . . Generically, yes, he's a Cajun . . . and good luck to him . . .

hey preaux, down load the free version of pandora on your i-pod, if it is an ipod touch, or on your i-phone and when you do go to new station and you can enter your favorite artist(s) in it and it will play songs by that artist and more songs similar to those songs by your favorite artist(s) and you can get ideas and some good music that way:cool:

I like Lil Nathan but I don't think he's on iTunes. I also like to go to krvs.org and download podcasts of zydeco stomp and medicine ball caravan for free. Several hours of free music each week that way.

Racines and Cedric Watson. Canray Fontenot, Balfa Bros/Dewey are old but worth having in the mix.

Dang Dink that is exactly what I was gonna reccommend. Plus Rosie Ledet. Saw her a couple of years ago at ther Blue Moon Guesthouse in Laffy. Best Live Zydeco act I've ever seen. Period.

Johnnie Sonnier is a cousin of mine. Its been a while since I have heard him play. He's old school and damn good. Gonna have to be tuned into KBON for the rest of the day now. lol
