I know it has been a while since I have had a report up, I had to go back and look, its been almost two months! Wow! I had no idea. I have been in Venice (http://www.plaqueminestourism.com/) fishing and any time off I spend working on the house. Not much time for reports.

I am here to report that the fishing has been good. The tuna (http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?SEARCHTERM=tuna&MODE=TERM_SEARCH) fishing has been on fire some days. The dolphin never did really make a huge showing but we did catch some nice ones. We have had about 8 billfish in the last 2 months, two of them were sailfish.

Bait is now here in good numbers. Some days the tuna wont eat certain baits but atleast we have them to choose from. Chunks still catching fish as always. Top water action not all that good but have had some on top. Most tuna are 40-60 pounds right now but a few 80-100 pounders being caught.

Brandon and I had a visitor the other day, a whale shark (http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?SEARCHTERM=shark&MODE=TERM_SEARCH) surfaced next to us. We were able to get some awesome underwater pics and video and then trippled up on tuna right beside it. How cool?

Grass lines have been hit and mis but we have landed some wahoo along the grass. Also a few wahoo on floating pallets and logs. Dive baits seem to get it done.

While snapper (http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?SEARCHTERM=snapper&MODE=TERM_SEARCH) and amberjack (http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?cmd=view&FishID=1) season has been closed, we have used the opportunity to go after some scamp grouper (http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?SEARCHTERM=grouper&MODE=TERM_SEARCH). Small live bait is the ticket. Getting through the snapper is the hard part! Some days we would have 6-9 nice scamp and some mangroves (http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?cmd=view&FishID=63) on top of that. Great eating fish. Amberjack season will open tomorrow so you can now keep a few more fish!!!!

Capt Gray has been putting it on em pretty good the last few days. He has had nice tuna every day. He is back at it today! Brandon and I will be back on the water Thursday.

I know we have a couple of open Sundays this month, if you want to fish. Some week days open as well!

Capt Andy, Capt Lee, Capt Jerry and a couple other guys have been running trips with us this summer and they have all put on one hell of a show! If Gray and I are booked up, I will do my best to get you on the water! Inshore and offshore!

Check out the pics!

Capt Josh, what's up with the daylight at the marina? I've never seen that when fishing with you. ;)

Thanks for the report and pics. I hope to see you soon.

Its ok to see daylight as long as you see fish!! Its when you start seeing daylight and no fish, then we have a problem!! lol
