Fourth week as non-smoker after forty years of smoking using a nicotine patch and encourgement from friends and family. Motivation: grandchildren.

That's awesome, an impressive accomplishment after any amount of years as a smoker - much less 40!! Keep it up for those grandbabys, the stress of quitting will be rewarded with more years with them, and better time spent to boot.

I'm at 4 weeks and a day. Feeling a lot better now, was a rough time those first few weeks. Congrats

Week seven. Just in case anyone is interested the Wal-Mart Equate patch is manufactured at the same place as the name brand. Over $10.00 less for two week supply.

any suggestions on the patch? Im looking in to it. Cold turkey hasnt worked very well for me in the past

It took me 5 try's over 10 years using patches, pills even acupuncture. Sunflower seeds and drinking lots of water was my magic bullet. Been smoke-free for 5 years now.
Stay after it and you'll beat it. It's like an old friend but once you get past the urges you'll wonder who you ever had such a nasty habit.
