5 weeks ago I started dieting and weighed 250

This morning for the first time in probably 6 or 7 years the scale was in the two-twenties ... Gotta decide where I'm gonna stop, seeing results gets addicting, and I'm catching myself only wanting to lose more

Thanks guys! I'm 6'2" and I've always weighed more than I looked .. I graduated HS at 205 and I was thin, I'm thinkin if in drop down to 210 or 205 I would just try to maintain that weight, I'm afraid anything more will just be too much

Started a low carb diet 3 weeks ago and I went from 283 to 269. I am 5'11" so I would like to get down to 200 or less.

If you look at it as a change in diet, rather than going on a diet you will see great results, and have no problem maintaining.

I changed my diet and stuck to it, I'm down from 220 to 183 and have no problem maintaining, I still go crazy here and there though.

I've dropped down to around 210 from 225-230. Just by changing my diet. I might start exercising once the weather cools down some

I dropped cokes and all fried food .. We subbed turkey for beef, alot of chicken and fish, and just avoid the things you know are bad. Watch for foods loaded with carbs, especially if the have a small amount of protein that's a bad combo, and cut your portions. I also pick one day every 2 weeks to drink alcohol (Bacardi and diet coke) and I don't drink any other time except that one day

The weight loss slowed a little for me, but I'm still at it ... 225 this morning, 25 LBS total

portion size, watch your carb intake, no sugars sugars are bad regardless if its form fruit or candy sugar is sugar. a bottle of oj for the store has just as much sugar as a snickers bar. this is what i have been doing down to 220 from 230-235

There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat

Intake vs outgoing calorie ratio is what you have to watch.

If at rest you MIGHT burn 1800 calories a day, so eat 700 calories more than that in a day and you will gain a pound in no time. Burn an extra 700 and you will lose a pound in no time.

This is all I look at. Calories are calories for the most part, you can get fat on lettuce and fruit if you consume more calories than you burn.

Keep it simple, don't be miserable, and eat carbs!! Carbs are the brains primary source (if not only source) for water - hence CarboHYDRATE. You gotta have them to feel good and think properly.

Eat to live, don't live to eat - and get up and move instead of watchin the tube. Hell, park the zero turn and push once a week - that'll increase the gap between calories is and out!

Great job guys! I got on the scale this morning and almost cryed when I saw 180. This is the officially the heaviest I've ever been. I'm 5' 11" so I don't look fat at all, but I feel like crap. I get winded very easy and my legs are sore as Hell from doing basic work in the welding shop this weekend. Sitting behind a desk has been the worst decision I've ever made in my life!

Get past the first 2-3 weeks and it gets easier. I made a change the last week of June and I was at my all time record of 260. Last week I hit 220 for the 1st time in 8-10 years. More importantly IMO, I have lost 5 belt loops. I am with Gooh and his math. Plenty of calculators on the net that considers age, height, weight, etc to figure out a game plan. I down loaded an app called MyFitnessPal and I keep track of EVERYTHING I eat and drink and bought a cheap food scale so I could see what my meat weighed before cooking. I am trying to keep it all fresh. Fruit, Veg's, grilled meats, eggs, plain oatmeal, and water. Combined with major portion control and added some exercise. Incline walking on treadmill. I try to keep calorie intake to a max of 1200 for now. It was hard at first, but kept the mentality to eat to survive not eat for the taste which is my vice. The excitement of watching the weight come off over 8 weeks and hitting -40 started to change my thinking to dietary instead of change. My original goal was 220, but now I would like to see 200-210. I started becoming obsessed with the weight and I have learned in the past that is a guaranteed way to put it all back on. My thinking becomes "I have made it so I can stop." To keep it off, I can ease up but can never stop. So last week, I told myself no more weight checking. Give September all I have with intake control and exercise and come October 1, I will weigh myself and compare that to how I feel and look and decide whether to keep going or start maintaining.

I switched to just drinking water ONLY as much as I can. Try to stay away from plate lunches for lunch.(which I LOVE) Try and just eat turkey sandwiches for lunch. And making sure I eat breakfast is the biggest thing cause I am not so hungry at lunch time. I used to hardly ever eat breakfast. I started out bike riding and have gotten up to 12 miles per ride but I feel like running is burning more calories so I kind of rotate between the 2. I don't own a scale but I have had to drop about 10 lbs or so by now.

Don't let 1 bad day kill it which is the trap I always fell in to. Kind of like 1 bad shot in golf or a 1 day skunk fishing trip. Keep the overall mindset and don't let a little stumble knock you down.

Breakfast is huge. I also never ate breakfast, but force myself now days even if it is a couple of apples or banana if I am running late. My key is to never allow myself to get hungry which is when I go stupid.

Also, use the internet and search calories burned on your exercise. For those of us with weight loss as our primary focus, calorie burn is the #1 goal when exercising. You will be surprised at what you find out if you search.
