Well, im bored..got a headache, and its to windy to fish, and it may rain.. so lets start a discussion on " What do you do for a living". Im curious as to see what yall guys do other then fish and hunt :)..


i plan on being a professional fishermen, and retire from that to be a saltwater guide..

Well, little fool, I'm a welder. I work all over the country and sometimes throughout the world. It was pretty fun when I was younger. I got paid to see the world! Now I have a family and all the hours at work and sometimes being thousands of miles from home have taken a toll.

Pick something better for yourself than welding!! GO TO COLLEGE!!!!!...or fish.

underwater welder was an option for me at once..but i got metal retainer (permanent) so i cant be one..

I work as an RSS for the army at Ft.Polk... other than that, I tear up big lake about once or twice a month.

I looked into underwater once but there are enough dangers above water!! Underwater is way harder on you. My hat's off to those guys who do it though!

My dad is a Safety man (contractor?) for KBR but at lanxees in orange tx right now.

used to work for MSRC to clean up oil spills. Traveled all over!

when he was growing up his dad own Browning Oil company.

so thats what he does

I work as an Automation Engineer for A dredging company out of New Orleans. Design, build, test, and deploy effective solutions.:smokin:
and right now I am filling in for the IT Manager the company let go.

i work at southern pipe and supply.i run the electrical dept.i also go to mcneese for wildlife management.on my spare time i FISH.

i work for turner specialty services as an extractor operator. i run the equipment used to pull heat exchangers. i do a little traveling but not much. i stay in the field going from plant to plant. it pays good considering there is only roughly 200 certified operators in the united states. and i am 1 of them

I am a Project Superintendent for Scaffolding Rental out of Port Allen La. I also travel alot. I have been lucky enough the past two years to work on the gulf coast and I get to fish every day after work.

I work For Island Operating, Contracted to Walter Oil and Gas as a Subsea Well Specialist. I do all the maitinence, trouble shooting, initial startups, pigging, testing, or whatever is needed to Subsea Wells across the Gulf, From Vioska Knoll to Mustang Island.

thats a pretty cool accomplishment
i got lucky and hooked up with a guy that was willing to teach me the trade. it definitely paid off in the long run.

I do non-destructive testing on aircraft...x-ray, ultrasound, eddy current etc...I look for cracks or defects in welds and metals,composites...been in the navy for almost 20 yrs....retire in september....then i'll have to find a real job :*****: but first i'm gonna do alot of fishin :D

fool, i have a finish carpentry business, we build custom staircases, interior trim custom moldings, cabinets, and some heart pine/ cypress furniture. when i have slow or down time we will also do some framing work but i prefer not to! i love my job but hate the stress of keeping a crew of guys oon track and with enough work to keep them busy. luckily we have been extremly busy the sence katrina

I am an Operation Specialist for Chevron, been in the Gulf of Mexico for 13 years, ready to transfer overseas, to get my kids college paid for now instead of fighting with that later.

I am a uscg licensed tankerman.. I am the person responsible for barges transferring product to the refineries. If I screw up at my job ,it makes the news and I go to jail. I just make sure no chemicals get in our water.

I am a LSU student,a bartender(which i hate), and I also give pitching lessons on the side for extra cash every once in a while. I graduate this summer and I am hoping to get a teaching job/coaching job. Hopefully at some point I wll be able to get my masters and coach at the college level.

I am a structural fitter for Gulf Island Fabrication, we build the decks and jackets that go in the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, Ivory Coast and anywhere else anyone has a well in production. Currently we are loading a small deck onto a bargefor Arena that is headed for the High Island field in the GOM.

well...im self employed :) i run fool's guide service.... Nah i take people for free around on the river bream fishing. Bass fishing is for the people who leave tips ($)

I'm a history teacher. As my name suggests, I was once a football/baseball coach, but I hung up my whistle and fungo bat this year after 16 years. It's nice to finally have time to grade papers. I spend most of my spare time resurrecting my fishing camp from Ike's wrath.

If we're talking about dads too, mine is a chemical engineering professor at Tulane.

Yes, we incorporated them into Gulf Island, now since the living quarter business is slow they are building the cabins for our marine division.

I'm a control systems designer specializing in automation programming. About 95% of our clients are oil and gas companies so most of my work is either offshore or in refineries. But right now I'm working on a plant that makes toilet paper.

I kick illegal aliens out of the country - every day, day after day. We kick out about 700 a week in Oakdale. Of course, most of them are back in the states in a month. I'm a lawyer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and love the job. I'm also a JAG Officer in the Army and spent a year in Iraq dodging rockets, mortars and roadside bombs.

Fool, I want to go bream fishing, put me on the list.
