May be a stupid question but how do you transplant them when they are so close together?

No problem ,I take a regular fork, stick it in the ground to lousen the soil and just lift them out, makes no difference if the soil falls off the roots they still take well and grow well

Yeah we did. I just pulled up my plants 2 days ago. I planted a 2nd crop in late September and they took off with the warm weather we had. When the forecast was for cold weather, I would cover them good and mulch the base up about halfway with hay. When we started to get the freezes more often, I just broke the tomatoes off and put them in my kitchen window until they ripened. They were so good. The broccoli and cabbage are still doing good. Can't wait to get into that garden and get it ready! Now that deer season is finished, I'm ready to start on that and then go fishing!

Nice plants, you should have early tomatoes, I have three nice plants that came up by themselves in December so I potted them up and they are nice now
