Checkout the Robalo Cayman. They come in 20' 22' and 24'. They have some family friend options like the Crevalle.

I don't know much about them, but they are a good looking boat with lots of nice features.

fishingpox - If you think consistency is important (I agree) perhaps you should see who has the most wins in FBS in the 2000s. Hint - it aint the OSU. :smokin:

OP - sorry for the derail. Good luck finding a ride on a bluewave. I think you will be very impressed.:cool:

Take this crap to the sports section. The OP didn't ask about sports teams!

Wow, I may be stuck on this boat now! Has all of the options that I like about the Crevalle for a better price! Thanks for the insight!

If you are willing to spend $70K then you really should look at a Blue Wave. You can get a fully loaded 2400 Pure Bay out the door for a grand over that.

heck if he is willing to spend $70k then he ought to consider this deal:

http://gulfport.craigslist.org/boa/4601002438.html

its a brand new premium quality boat at a used boat price tag

This might be a really good deal. Now that said:

1. This is almost a 3 year old boat. May be in mint condition but it is used no matter how you slice it.
2. There is just a little jump in money to go from $70K to $100. Like almost 50%.

Now again that probably is a good price for a YF.

it looks like it.

it is my understanding they are well worth every penny because you just cant buy a better built boat or one that is of any better quality then a YF but that is also why they demand such a high price and resale value.

sparkyc4 08-13-2014 04:59 PM

I am looking to spend less than $50k, the Robalo starts at $36k

looks like a nice boat but the 150 they have in their "deal" is way underpowered for that heavy a boat

not sure what it is rated for but I would have to agree with your opinion since just about all the 22-24" bay boats I see are running 225-300hp motors.

its rated for 250hp and that's what I would suggest you get them to put on it, maybe a 225hp if your trying to save some money

sparkyc4 08-13-2014 09:29 PM

They have a good Boat Builder on the website. I agree, the 150 is way under powered, but the 200 should be plenty to keep my budget where I need it and still give me a few need options (Trolling motor)

meaux fishing 08-13-2014 10:51 PM

You will also want it get it with a 36v trolling motor system. That 70lb thrust they show on the website is a joke for that boat

latravcha 08-14-2014 08:46 AM

Looked at that one on boat trader the other day. It is a hell of a boat

bayouchub 08-14-2014 08:49 AM

Do your research with actual owners on the hull truth.

sparkyc4 08-20-2014 11:20 AM

Well, my budget got cut in half...decided to go Aluminum. Going to test drive a Grizzly 2072 with a Mercury 115 4-stroke. Seems to be what my new budget will allow. No running offshore (Sans liquid courage), but it will keep me at "bay" until my budget gets renewed in a few years.

meaux fishing 08-20-2014 12:20 PM

you can find a decent used fiberglass bay boat for 1/2 the price of those new, if you want to go that route

sparkyc4 08-20-2014 02:13 PM

The finance company is being hard so they only want to finance new.
