They were not as friendly when asked about antelope and deer hunting... haha.

If you ask local farmers to turkey hunt they normally tell you yes but only if you shoot them all and not just the ones you are going to tag and bring home.

Merino wool, only way to go for me. Especially if you are deer hunting and worried about smell.

Last fall I found some good coveys of quail and a few pheasants while bow hunting in Nebraska seems they are making a comeback.
I have a GSP pup and hoping I can bring her on morning bird hunting and evening bow hunting trip to midwest.

Last year our contact there was impressed the most with my homemade Tasso but he specifically requested seafood. He and his wife go to the local bar and grill weekly for fried carp night.
I had to laugh at eating carp but told him could bring him some flounder and what ever else I could fit in the big ice chest.

I am surprised the prices are increasing so much with the Energy sector struggles.

Man I'm still trying to wrap my head around that 55K lease.

I'm not sure what's worse 7 $8,000+ blinds or 11 $5,000+ blinds. (I'm not even factoring in profit margins, but I'm sure there will be)

Either way someone is getting the shaft if they lease those blinds.

How many years is the lease?

Same here. There were tons of bids in the high 20s and both hackberry sections had more than one 30k plus bid.

If my sources are correct Acadian Ambulance won the $55,000 lease in Creole. Deep, deep pockets!

Well in that case it isn't that bad. I mean still way to high for me but split a few ways over 5 years isn't bad. I thought it was one year.

Price is per year, it goes back up for bid in 5 years.

Lost lease

30 to 55k a year! That is literally almost a grand a hunt. I'm no mathematician, but couldn't you just go guided everyday for cheaper. Not have to put in any work, no boat upkeep and a jam up lodging experience for cheaper? It just doesn't add up. What is even more nuts is the prices people in Houma marshes pay to shoot ringers and spray hyceinth and Salvania every year. SE part of the state will eventually catch up. Plenty of guys that like to pull their gator tail boat with their Range Rover or Porsche SUV to Delacroix.

You think they are doing all this work you mention. If they have that much money to pay trust me they have hired help doing all this work. They likely call their hired help and tell them when to have the pro drive ready to go. Also, I am sure they are entertaining a lot of clients and friends....A guided duck hunt is about 1K for 3 people just for a drive up hunt...most have a 3 person minimum..... so if you entertain a lot and need to pay for overnight stays it adds up even more. This is not your avg middle class person paying all this $ for these leases....and if I had enough money I would pay the $ to...lol
