my dad's good friend was looking at them i think he was gunna get like a 115 on his.but idk if he is looking at them anymore..he got a new honda jet ski

heavy boat = smooth ride

there are no substitutes for deadrise and hull weight to knock out the chop, except maybe the stepped hull the YF uses.

more like you'd achieve orbit.

LaAngler 05-18-2009 10:38 PM

lake and bay 24 only 2100 lb hull weight, that's light (can't imagine having 1000+ lbs of engine on the back performing right), the ranger is 2800 or so, bay bolt is 3150.

my dream boat would be a lake and bay boca grande

I have a 18' with a 115 and mine tops out at about 41 but I just got my prop repitched and the man that did the work says that I can run 46 with the new pitch. I just got it back yesterday and haven't put it on yet but I will let you know. I love my boat. The only problem I have is the 18'. Now I want a bigger one. Jerry's marine has a 22' with 225 optimax for 30,000. Thats not too bad. Not sure where you got yours from but with TTL mine was right at 21,000.

Get a 23' Shearwater and put a 250 YAMA! Very nice rig there! Hope you have at least $55K.
What about a SCOUT. Those are some nice looking bay boats too!

Seeing Spots 05-19-2009 07:47 AM

A buddy of mine just bought a 24ft Lake and Bay...Talk about sweet! Tricked out with power pole, 110 motor guide, Big Screen (color) GPS, Depth finder, 300 Suzuki. It's a little better than my 1994 predator. lol. Another just got his new 24 ft champion it is tricked out also. Funny thing is... the hulls looked identical from underneath but the cap was different. Can't wait to get in the Lake and bay.

i like the look of the gause

looks like it will float shallow enough to do inshore but will fish 50 miles offshore no problem.

so i think we established that yellowfin/gause > mako :rotfl:

I fish out of a 2110 Nauticstar. My boss had the 2200 and sold it to buy the 2110. The 2200 is a little longer and wider, but the 2110 handles a heavy chop a whole lot better. The 2110 also only needs a 150 to push it 45mph.
