I know a lot of people who went to Kozak also, but he could not see me for 2 months and I couldn't walk or work.

After my surgery, I was back to work in 2 months. I had zero pain until I went back to work. Then some scar tissue touched some nerves and I had some leg pain again.
I went to a accupuncture doctor and he fixed the scar tissue.'

Austin, check www.spine-health.com.

As for Dr. Kozak. One of the best, but I use Dr. Wolf in LC who supposedly studied under him. Know several docs in LC that have used Wolf.

Injections and accupuncture and chiropractic do work for some people. The injections can be repeated for a while if they work.

good luck

There are several minimally invasive procedures that some pain management doctors can do to help with pain in the legs and back.
I had several of them, but they only last so long.

Had surgery in 1997, still good today.

Anyone ever tried traction?

BottomOfTheBoot 06-25-2010 09:01 AM

Not trying to endorse PEAK or anything, but along with therapy, traction is the way to go.

Everyday, your vertebrae squeeze together bc of your body weight being pulled down by gravity. Your spine "shrinks" and squeezes your vertebral disks causing pain.

If your hand (vertebral disk) were between two weights (vertebrae), pulling the weights closer would cause more pain.

Pulling them apart (traction) alleviates some of the immediate pain.

As with all the other "fixes" traction works for some and not others. Depends on what shape the disc are in if it may help.

The traction table got rid of the sciatica in my left leg. I did it over a year ago and it hasn't come back. It will not repair your discs, however. As someone noted...it will not work in every case.

Dr. Snow

Was just listening to Dr. Snow who is an accupuncturist/chiropractor on the Moon Griffon show a while ago....sounds like if you don't feel better you don't pay. Anyone use him before?

I used Dr. Snow. He is a very nice guy, but you do pay your deductible.
He helped me. I thought it was all B.S., but I have tried almost everything
there is to try.
It works, but it takes time.
He was able to break up the scar tissue and stop the pain in my azz and leg.
They put the needles in different areas then put electricity in the needles.
That broke up the scar tissue.

jchief 07-06-2010 09:44 PM

I used him and it did help. As with anything else, works for some and not others. There are other accupunctuist out there. He was expensive and my insurance did not pay for him.
