Had a PM for a guys #... called him..... He has (2) mercurcy 200hp ('99) EFI motors that are dual................ my question is........ can these motors fit the same johnson controls ?

yak'em-n-stack'em 03-16-2011 09:04 AM

those mercs make great anchors

Jordan 03-16-2011 09:08 AM

well, the johnson is making a great yard ornament.... i dont care to hear about how awesome this motor is over that motor.... i need something

Jordan 03-16-2011 04:40 PM

Called Jerrys Marine in Sulphur.... he's going to get back with me tomorrow on what he can do..... bump to the top just in case this falls through !!

Finfeatherfur has a friend who bought that Contender.
He said they were changing out the 2 stroke Yamaha's to 4 strokes.
He might be able to get you one.
I doubt a Johnson control system will fit a Merc. or Yamaha motor.

with all the bass boats up there you should be able to find a toledo motor with less corrosion than one that's lived in SWLA forever.

Try Genes Marine in Lake Charles 337-474-2125. Yamaha told me i needed a new motor too, so i called Genes Marine and he asked to take a look at my motor and found some used parts and fexed it cheap.
