i got the same boat if you do get them i have been very interested if it would help......i put a jack plate on and now i have a little lean at wot.

Big Kahunaz 04-22-2011 10:33 PM

this could be due to the possibility (since adding your jack plate) that the prop could be slipping or the engine being lifted to high (not allowing the bow to lift properly)

is it hydraulic?

adamsfence 04-22-2011 10:35 PM

no its manual

Big Kahunaz 04-22-2011 10:38 PM

maybe play with the trim anode....if the above isnt' the reason.....

adamsfence 04-22-2011 10:40 PM

is that that little fin thingy above the prop

Montauk17 04-22-2011 10:42 PM

The trim tab only corrects steering torque,if you boat has a list to one side while running that bobs machine stabilizer may do the trick. Other than that, trim tabs are your only other option.

I have one these from bob's. They do work. Had it on a 115 Yamaha on an old bay boat. Took it off when I sold it in case I needed it again. Just got finished building a house and may never get on the water again :). if interested, pm me. I can discuss price and send pics. I would make a pretty sweet deal. Also, I'm not sure what self adjusting trim tabs you were talking about but I tried some of the ones that self adjust with a hydraulic ram. They dont work.

Somebody jump on that, I can't run them! My talon will hit the one on the right wen deployed

Just put a set on my 1652 this weekend, they work great !!! On step within two boat legnths and porpusing is a thing of the past... I was actually able to move my trolling motor battery back beneath the rear casting deck, as I had moved it up front to combat the bouncing..

Well worth the $150, installs easy with dvd instructions...

I will be swapping the nylon nuts and bolts out for stainless this week since they work so well...

can anyone please help i have a 15' allweld semi v wit a 60 johnston problem is i have to trim it all the way down to come out the hole which it does quick then i can trim up im trying to get max rpm's with out having to trim up so much my question is wolud these trim tabs help me acheive this an if so what size should i get and what kind im on a budget so any help would be awsome.
THANKS, BRAD DAIGLE

The tabs I installed are for holeshot and/or porpusing issues, which they fixed... I wanted to keep all batteries and fuel tanks beneath the rear deck, which the tabs allowed me to do without sacrificing ride, holeshot, and top end... I also have a 11p 4 blade ss wheel that the guys at Powertech prescribed for my application...

Not sure what your issue is other than trimming up for max rpm's ?

yes and no. if you put the trim tabs then you can trim up on take off. the tabs will keep the bow down allowing you to start out in shallow water. as far as to getting to max rpms without trimming up which i assume makes you porpoise you might need to reprop and go to a lower pitch.
