welcome to the site, I'll have to get in contact with you soon, I was wondering how much a surface drive cost if I already have the motor, the motor is a 20 hp honda 3 years old, new in box.

Gator Tail will not sell you just the surface drive.

Mud Buddy used to, but don't know if they still do

Mudbuddy used to years ago but got out of it. I have worked on them all and Mudbuddy and Gatortail are some darn good drives. Both use the exact same motors just different drives where Mudbuddy can be tweaked more on the drive gearing. Welcome aboard Gatortail

I'm a fan of kohler motors, we have one at work with over 12,000 hours on it.

Kohlers are beast of motors but you will never get that on a surface drive. More rpms equal faster wear and tear.
