You guys are both welcome.

Today, I fished a small local tournament and snaggged a 1st place speck on a topwater attached to my line with a Tony Clip.

PaulMyers 10-08-2011 09:52 PM

Congrats on your first place speck!

Get in on This!!!!

I found a pack of Tony Clips in my garage last night. They come in packs of five. I will mail one clip to the first five interested members that post a quick reply and that have not tried them. I am not affiliated with Tony Clips and there are no strings attached. I am doing this for the hell of it. Come on!

Miss a few days on the cajun and I miss out. Haha....let me know if you can get more I will pay for em.

buoy37 10-09-2011 06:05 AM

Thanks

Thanks Paul. The fish was nothing to brag about. Most people were targeting reds and flounder. Only two specks were turned in and mine happened to be the winner.

I have used Norton's a good bit and never had an issue with any lure coming off.
It is so dang hard to get a lure on the ones I had, I don't know how anything can
come off of them.

I got some made by Quick Swirl or something like that. Pretty good on topwater
but sometimes have issues with the line getting caught in it with a popping cork.
Comes with our without swivel. 140 lb. test. They were free, so I don't have any
issues with using them. But I think Norton is betta.

I use 12 lb to 15 lb test line with light reels and light drag. Not worried about them
breaking.

Try taking the cork off. You really don't need it with a topwater bait, anyway.
