I worked with that guy, he is still paralyzed. I wear a harness now because of him, it's not that much of a hassle to climb with, like you said a real hassle would be spending your life in a wheelchair.

The real kicker is that he always, always wore his harness religously. But that one morning at red river he forgot it in the truck, got about a 1/2 mile in before he realized it and decided to climb without it just this one time.
