17'x 42" alweld tunnel w/ 25hp Yam, 2 stroke (normal water heights in GC marsh) and a 18'x48" w/ a 36hp GD long tail...use the last one for mud flats and extremely shallow running. Haven't stuck it yet......heck of a set up for marsh hunting.

i have a 18' 42" tunnel hull with a 97 yamaha 25 thats had some minor work done to it, it gets up in 8 to 12 inches of water depending on the load not the best motor for the boat but still does everything i want if my 25 ever gives out i plan getting something with a little more behind it

18x42 weldcraft tunnel 40 merc, very little free board so it gets up in 3" and runs like a spotted azz ape.

Three-cylinder or two?

3 cylinders, i had a 2 cyliinder and it was a good motor but not very strong

i had it on a 14 ft alweld and i miss that boat that motor on a 14 ft flat will straight up role for being a 25

when i bought the 18 ft the tunnel wasnt vented so i got that done and had to take it from a 13 pitch down to a 12 and its cupped hard enough to eat a bowl of gumbo now

it runs pretty good for an old 25 on a big boat

Those are some great motors, especially with 40 tohatsu carbs and some of that Cajun Christian magic dust.

yeah i know what you mean he is a magician.

the only bad thing about the 40 carbs which i have is the fuel pump is on the middle carb.

on the original carbs the fuel pump is on bottom so you have to do some "fancy plumbing" thats a quote from the magician himself because i didnt even know it was 40 carbs.

thats the problem i ran into a couple weeks ago the way my hoses are run under the shifter linkage and the hose was gettin old and bein in such a bind it finally split while i was on the water and i had no idea what was goin on

18x38 GoDevil boat with 36 Prodrive. Not the best big water boat but hard to beat in the marsh.

fullrutt 03-18-2012 08:11 PM

Good to see all these boats. There is a red fish series about to start for mud motor boats and shallow water
Boats with engines no larger then 60hp... Going to be such a good tourney... Some big sponsors as well

I have a homemade 18' X 48 tunnel hull with a 90 hp Mercury Optimax that I use for running crab cages and trot lines and also to hunt with.

That has to be one of the nicest setups I have seen on a smaller aluminium boat, not many people will put time and money you have into a smaller boat
