But I'm a part time fisherman full time LU student. My tuition cover the team fees?

Make check payable to Jeremy "W" Waltrip. He always wins the tourneys on Big Lake.

Capt.B 04-04-2012 08:33 PM

Was in LCT today and was told guides could fish it.....

Sorry about the confusion, Capt.B. Did you speak with Pam? It was probably a misunderstanding. Those with a captain's license are welcome to fish. We simply prefer that fishermen who guide regularly and as a primary source of income not compete. Our goal is for the recreational fisherman to have a fair shot at winning. Thanks for understanding.

Oh I'm in!!!

inchspinner 04-04-2012 09:04 PM

I stand corrected. This was a decision that was made after the fact. Again, I apologize for any confusion.

So what determines full time / part time....I fish 3 days a week......so you saying if I hold a Capt. license and work @ Burger King too I would be eligible???? I mean I'm not tryn to be ugly or hijack a thread....but I see a double standard here.....Whats fair is if you get paid to fish period, your not eligible IMHO!!!!

Big Kahunaz 04-04-2012 10:01 PM

Thanks King for helping/putting this together. I hope this has a great turnout and becomes an annual event on big lake. It's always nice to have a competitive reason to fish.
-Donnie G.

By the way.... Do u plan on wetting a line for this event?

I completely understand, Capt.B. After speaking with another tournament director, our decision is to allow a licensed captain to fish the event as long as he has not guided on the lake for 30 days prior to May 12, 2012. The official rules also state that "contestants may not obtain or receive assistence from non-competitors".

Thanks

Thanks Donnie! David Rabalais and I were looking for a way to give back to our friends, customers and fellow anglers who share our passion for saltwater fishing. We do plan to make it an annual event and hope that it will grow in time with more prizes and other opportunites to win. Unfortunately, I will never have the opportunity to participate, as I feel it would be unethical. Could you imagine if I won the grand prize? I'd look like a complete tool!
Anyway, I'll be there shagging fish and helping with the event. Hope you can make it!

Fair enough then.....Good Luck to all!!

inchspinner 04-04-2012 10:59 PM

It should be a great event, sounds like some fun....I see the prize payouts are based on 100 teams....What is the percentage payouts....with the eliminating of "GUIDES" is gonna put a big notch in the number of entries but I hope theres a big turnout....If there is only 30 teams and so on....

SaltyShaw 04-04-2012 11:05 PM
