Great box shot...

My brother and nephew were down last Sat, and he said the number of boats on the lake was unreal. They caught 32 trout, a few reds and a few black drum...the trout were on live shrimp and the reds on cracked crab.

Know some guys who have been limiting out at JB rocks by 730am with 60 trout the last 4 days

Rocks will be jammed up soon from the beach on out along with the lake:spineyes: Nice report CKIN....looks like a happy little kido~!

Nice catch. Took our Boy Scout troop camping on the beach near Creole Friday night and fished the surf Saturday. Caught some nice specks, a few reds, and plenty of sharks on cut bait and plastic. Most specks were caught on white plastic close to the beach. Nothing on topwater lures. One adult had about 4 nice specks on a short stringer tied to his waist and a shark neatly bit off the back half of a spec and crashed into his thigh as it moved through! Pretty exciting (and scary)! Beautiful weekend.

Boy that is an understatement! I think I saw more boats on the water Saturday than I've ever seen for the Trout Shoot Out. I think just about any one who has a boat was out Saturday.

Good report.

Saw you heading out Saturday morning but too crowded to say hello. Hope you had a good day on the lake. I'm actually glad i got out and witnessed the mass crowds that morning. Never woulda dreamed the amount of boats alone at cal pt much less all of big lake.
Had one fella pulling his trailer out of the launch that morning and his tire was about to wobble right off. Luckily i had just purchased a 2ton hydraulic floor jack so he could quickly replace. Left the jack with him as we set sail and asked of him to place it in the bed of my truck not sure if it would be there upon return. I have to say there are still honest good people left out there! :)

I rather go fish JB rocks than fight moron in lake...most who go to rocks know how to fish

I work in Johnson Bayou everyday and get to pass by the surf. Growing up in Johnson Bayou I can pretty much tell when that surfs on.

Welcome to the Saltycajun.

Please keep us informed about the beach fishing conditions. It is a long drive for most of us and is really hard time it right to catch some fish.
