Pox, I have eaten more Axis than most people I know. Owned a ranch out of Mountain Home TX for 11 yrs and we were loaded with Axis. Truly is one of the best forms of venison out there. Oryx is also excellent meat. Also one of the prettiest trophies in my opinion. Some people get taken in by those palmatted antlers of the fallow however. In my opinion the meat of a fallow is very bland and tasteless however.
