Did not know that. Thanks for the tip.

I do 150 nights a year on it, I figure they yank enough taxes from me that the least I can do is exploit the discount!

TWIC Card = Govt ID = 100% Success on booking Govt rate at hotels... Just sayin.

I heard this today at firefighting school. Said sometimes they offer a government discount but you have to ask about it.

If you book online through Marriott, Hilton or IHG they give the option under rate type - select Gov, show up and hand them the card, credit card and drivers license when you check in and it's a done deal.

The web police will be ragging me in a minute on here. I'm sure it will be someone without a TWIC too...

5 year card hear. Use it at least 4 times a week for different docks and yards. Make an appointment like others say.

I just got mine renewed Monday. One more time in another 5 years and that's all for me.

I missed my appointment due to weather and they made me wait for 2 months to get another appointment, but the TWIC would be expired. So I waited for 2 hours and 45 freakin minutes, just to pick it up.

I heard from co-workers that Lafayette is a lot better. So is Mobile, Ala.
Next time I am going to Lafayette.

DA COVE 04-10-2013 10:20 PM

Lafayette is only slightly better, maybe?? When I was there getting mine renewed, there was a guy there with an appoinment that had been waiting 2.5 hrs just to pick his up. Got my first in Lake Charles, don't see much differance in the two locations..
