Sheeet!! its about dayum time!!! I thought Chale Soenin had a better chance than Weideman though...Ive always enjoyed watching Weideman from his very first fights, he has always been considered an underdog. But it probably will be a short lived title...

While his head may not have moved, from the clip I saw, his chin nearly touched his ear!:work:

He got beat the first round before he ever started to act cocky. I think he realized he actually had someone to worry about after round 1

I don't think he threw I don't the silva was in it mentally with all the hype and build up to this fight, I'm glad weidman won and you have to hand it to him he's a class act silva taunted him after wiedman beet him down the first round and then wiedman hugs him after the round was very funny

remember chuck liddell? once he started to lose he couldn't win. he should of went go talk to Apallo Creed!!!!!!!!!!!

He said after the fight that he has no plans to go for the title again.

He looked like he was trying to move his head back to his right as the left hook hit his chin... It wasn't a vicious left but he was ROCKED!!!

And if that left hook wasn't enough, the straight right as he was on the ground was plenty!

As far as "throwing the fight"... I thought he looked a little odd throughout the fight but he is a very odd fighter... nothing nothing nothing and then BAM! your nose is sideways (ask Rich Franklin)

I seen a pre fight interview where he mentioned wanting to fight Roy Jones Jr.

I don't even care for the guy but, he is an amazing fighter!

16 wins in row is nothing to discount, he is probably the best ever in the octagon

Did you watch the fight?

Suppose you were instructed to "throw" a fight, would you rather do it in the first round when you got put in a decent ankle hold, or let a pro fighter punch you in the chin?

Think about that.

He lost the first round bad.

He is very cocky, but I really think his normal game plan back fired. All that taunting is the plan. It gets in the heads of his opponents and takes them off their game. Weidman did a great job of keeping his cool and not letting Silva get in his head and he caught him.

I'm not taking anything away from Weidman. He is a great fighter, but the rematch won't last 2 minutes. Silva will knock his head off.

I don't think you watched the first round either...
Weidman is a pretty well rounded and gifted athlete...
He can and will hang in there with anyone in that division...
Will he beat them all? NO
Will he beat Silva in a rematch?... That remains to be seen but he did do a pretty darn good job the first time around even without the knockout punch he was winning the fight on my card.
