Echo trash talker is cheap and easiest call I've ever blown. I bought my brother in-law one for a beginner call and every time I blew it I liked it more. I know have one on my lanyard next to a hobo prime meat. YouTube kent Cullem best live duck caller in the world. He originally made echo calls then branched off on his own with hobos

Them wenches you can make two different hen sounds. That I really like. I blew it a good bit last yr until I decided to finally bite the bullet and get an rnt macrohen. I like it a lot. Doesn't stick much in cold but it's DEFINATELY a different style of calling I'm still trying to perfect it

Yep. Uncover that hole and it's pretty high pitched. Good as a teal call.

Thanks for all the input fellas. I'll probably go with the DR85 for now. Is the only place to get a Chien Caille in Gueydan? I would love to pick one up just for the heritage behind them.

If you order it custom and pick it up they will put your name on it, they make awesome gifts.

I have a prime meat it's a single reed
The ICU2 is a great double reed call which is amazingly versatile for a double reed!

I like the wench too.......alot.........
do yourself a favor and get to the blind way before sun up......lay back and listen to the birds.....you will be surprised at just how little sounds they actually make on the water.....all that hail call stuff is ........well........crap IMO.........
I have 100$ calls that I never use........I like the easy soft blowing calls........
A little is a LOT down here

Old Advice
My grandfather taught me how to call, but before he did he taught me when to call. He always said the first step is the most important. He would feed ducks after the season and make us sit in the blinds to learn the "duck talk".
