Is the marlin fishing in Cabo seasonal? Fishing Sailfish out of Isla Mujeres (a small island by cancun) is good January -May.

Striped marlin is good pretty much year around. In the fall is when the blue and black marlin move in. But stripes are like banana fish over there.

Hawaii. The big island. Getting there is expensive, but you can fish cheap out of Kona once you are there. You are in 600 feet of water within 3 minutes of leaving the dock. Marlin, mahi mahi, and several types of tuna.
