Well, only if those changes don't affect you or anyone you know.

Nobody ever wants to cut anything that they might be tied to, hence the whole reason we've gotten to where we are now!

The governor is a piece of work, I'll give you that. But the budget problem we have... That baby belongs to the legislature. They have created an environment that promotes wasteful spending. And better yet.. They structure the laws so that the wasteful spending is protected. No governor is gonna change that. It's gonna take the legislature to convene a constitutional convention to undo the damage that they created. Unfortunately, you'll probably need a whole new set of legislators to do that.

If you think that the state is trying to spend money wisely, think again. Drive down I-10 and watch dotd replace road signs with newer ones that says the same damn thing or replace a milage marker with one that says I-10.... In case you forgot what road you were on... Wonder how many jobs were sacrificed so they could put those up???

Salty 08-26-2013 05:59 PM

Anybody know what Jindal's approval rating is now? Back about 3 months ago at the beginning of summer it was 38%. Not only was it lower than the president's....it was the lowest of any present US governor. Apparently, at least some think he ain't done nothin' good.

I'm sure this will head to the Gilnet soon

I agree 100%. Supposedly that is a federal mandate because the existing signs aren't reflective enough. Whatever. Replace just the sign. Reuse the existing posts and concrete. Besides, my wife is rank and file with the Department of Health and Hospitals Medicaid. She has had only one cost of living raise in 4 years, and twice the work load as she had then. No pay raises for state rank and file is really gonna balance their budget? Horse puckey! Cutting the pay of one or two legislaters or top ranking state execute managers will compensate the loss of pay of probably 10 to 20 wage earners. Punishing the rank and file for executive misspending just ain't right and certainly doesn't fix anything.:pissed:

Yeah, all of those that frequent Earl K. Long for the sniffels and, coughs are pissed that they can't go to the Friday night social (aka the waiting room) anymore.

Tough decisions aren't always popular. Popular decisions, especially today, are rarely ever right. Cuts had to start somewhere and, they were pretty offensive to some. I'd bet there are a lot more cuts coming but, unless we "just print more money," we'll wind up in the same hole as CA or, Michigan soon.

You called?

Wag 08-27-2013 07:52 AM

Jindal is just implementing the National Republican agenda into the state with great success with the help from the Legislature. For this, his approval rating has dropped, even below Obama's. Just goes to show you that not even Republicans like the National Republican agenda when it is indeed put into effect and forced down their throat. Now he is trying to rig a Congressional Election in the 5th Congressional District. This guy is unreal, and he is trying to win the Presidential nomination of the Republican Party in 2016. Republicans better wake up.

This is exactly the problem. I walk through the hospital here and see people standing in line to get "free care" while the employee that used to serve them got canned because of it.

Ya know, W, come to think of it...neither have I.

FYI, I am not the one that "makes these numbers up", but, there is such a thing as an approval rating .

If this is the Rodney Alexander seat, then yes there is some shady stuff going on right now:eek: Dude resigns, then Jindal gives him a job:shaking:

Jindal is just another Louisiana politician is all, he started out with good intentions but fell in with the good ol boys and thats it.

Will vote for him in 2016 though if he gets the nomination and Rand Paul or Christie doesn't:rotfl:
