He isn't doing anything different than any of us who train gun dogs,hunt test dogs or field trial dogs. The basics are the same for all, might be able to be a bit sloppy with a gun dog (holes) and it will show up down the line.

Will it do whistles and stuff with out it? If dropping a bird at your feet and bringing a blind bag full of rocks is your cup of tea don't FF.
