ok I swapped out the relays this evening and they work if I jumper them but something isn't right because the trim switches don't do anything anymore, no clicking no nuthin so I have to tear it apart and recheck all the connections.

by the way the relays mount exactly like a beer coozy, just pull the old ones straight out from the suction cup and push the new ones in until it bottoms out and the rubber ears holds them from turning

i'll post a picture of it tomorrow after I figure out whats wrong

EDIT: rechecked the wiring diagram and noticed what I did wrong.

I put the main power supply to the wiring harness on the starter side of the starter relay instead of the battery side lol. that's a dumb rookie mistake but that's what happens when your trying to do things in a hurry

if it doesn't act up after about 6 months then I'll know for sure its fixed because as I said before it some times works fine for a while then the gremlin just reappears so I feel confident its fixed but only time will tell

played with it a lot and seams to no longer have any issues.

I bench tested the old relays and both coils read the same resistance but one relay clicks much louder then the other (enough to hear the difference 18" away) but it still reads 1k contacts resistance (most of the time) but sometimes starts off with 2k or 3k resistance before dropping to 1k after a second. the louder relay has 1k contacts resistance almost every time but a few times started at 2k for half a second before dropping to 1k.

so I see one is bad by not having as clean a contacts reading as well as the different sounding click tells me somethings different, im pretty sure its bad but just I cant say 100% absolutely for sure enough to throw it away

well I wouldn't be throwing the bad one out actually, but I would just tag it and bag it as BAD and keep it for spare parts like the nuts and washers that are easy to drop and lose
