I have speed spools and Revo S's, the more I throw my Revos the more I like them. The Speed Spools are great too though - just prefer the overall feel of the Revos.

I've thrown Shimanos too, but never owned any. Revos and Lew's offer great bang for the buck

I have amongst a bunch of other stuff a chronarch and a tourney pro......both are excellent baitcasters.....slight maintanance edge goes to chronarch, slight performance edge goes to tourney pro....can't go wrong with either

bayouchub 07-10-2014 10:17 PM

13 is pretty much just an okuma.

Goooh 07-10-2014 11:16 PM

Fin Nor anyone? Nobody ever talks about them, but the price point is good... And Captain Jeff says they are for real guys

rsw337 07-10-2014 11:41 PM

all i run are curado e's chronarch and ci4's and ive got a revo and orra inshore that are quality reels for inshore

specknation 07-10-2014 11:43 PM

Fin Nor back in the day made real great quality offshore type reels, they are owned by Zebco I would not purchase anything from them that would go within 100 miles of brackish or saltwater.

Goooh 07-10-2014 11:47 PM

Not even there inshore/salt specific models now?

Edit - I was mistaken, it's their spinning reels that they make for inshore. Baitcaster a are for big game

specknation 07-11-2014 12:24 AM

Goooh I would stay away, go Shimano

Marshjugger 07-11-2014 08:44 AM

SHIMANO bait casters for saltwater man!!!! Citica-curado- clean em once a yr haven't had any trouble

Hightower 07-11-2014 09:25 AM

I've had almost all of the Shimanos. Calais, Chronarch, Curado, etc. Finally bucked the system and picked up an Okuma Cedros baitcaster last summer... absolutely love it so far.

AubreyLaHaye458 07-11-2014 09:49 PM

Played with a few reels tonight. It's amazing to me how small they are. Especially the new curado.

The curado g series is made in malasia and the chronarch e series are made in japan. Id go with the chronarch e over the curado g if u go shimano in that price range.
