Alphaman, what wot speeds is your buddy getting with the 200 suzuki

He is still playing with Jack plate and trim settings. But so far 55 but hes still in the break in period. And conditions weren't that good for him to stay wide open and play with trim and jp.

Traveling 55mph in a boat, your covering some water very fast!

I've got a frontier 210 non-liner model have a 200 optimax. Can get 58mph loaded to fish two guys all day it will run exact rpms =mph if propped right. I've read that the 200 sho will push it to 61. I'm gonna be selling soon if your not dead set on a Yamaha or brand new.

A 200 is would be nice. But speeds over 50 in a frontier is crazy fast. You really don't have enough room on the water to go 50 mph for a long period of time on the water.

With my 175 whatever my rpm are that's my speed 4000 rpm, 40mph Gas milage is great. I can go 60 miles on 12 gallons of gas crusing 35-40. IL keep you posted on the number my buddy is getting with that 200 suzuki.

Take a look at the Blue Wave Pure Bay 220. I just got the 2400 after a long extensive review and search. Florida Sportsman TV just did a series of segments on their top boat choices. The Blue Wave made the top three in both the 20-22' class and the 24-26' class. And the new taller privacy console allows more storage or the ability to add a porta potty.

I have the 300 Yamaha on mine and although not broken in yet, with three people loaded for a fishing trip we hit 58mph with a full tank of gas. And it does have the fish box step up in the front which is really a nice feature.

A boat can never be "too fast" theres always that time u say man i wish it was a lil faster..... Of course your going to mostly cruise at 35-40mph but theres nothing better than doin 75Plus on the water.

Making it home is always better. I do know that go 50+ isnt safe imo.

Id love to have purebay 2200, but with what i want on it, it will be out of my budget

I talked to a dealer that sells Frontier and Bluewave. He said he liked the overall ride and performance of the Frontier more. I recently bought a Frontier with a Merc ProXS 175. It's running 52'ish. I'm being told it may loosen up a little after it's broken in. I considered going with a 200. Reason I didn't was (in my opinion) not much more power at all (especially with the "regular" 4 strokes) and it came with more weight and a steeper price tag. To really get it to scream you'd have to put the Yamaha Vmax SHO. Then you have the extra cost of the motor and jack plate since that motor is not offered in an XL shaft. That boat rigged with a Suzuki 175 is hard to beat.

Best overall performance as far as hole shot, cruise, top end with the frontier is going to be with a 200 opti or Yamaha sho. I've ran A lot of different props on mine and the
Mercury bravo 1 xs 22p is perfect on this boat with a 200 . Great holeshot, cruise, and top end also it has great bite even with my jacklplate raised at its highest setting. Just in case you go with a 200 might save you some time maximizing your prop setup.

What motor do you have on your frontier?

I have the 200 optimax
I'd like to know how the new 200 Suzuki will perform supposed to be pretty powerful from what I've heard.

What's your performance looking like with that 200 optimax.

I've got excellent holeshot, cruise is typically equal to rpms say around 4000 rpms is 42-43 topend loaded 58 I've touched 60 with 21p tempest plus but it just didn't have the same overall grip as the bravo1 xs.

Another really nice boat to consider is Blazer Bay. I bought a 2170 (22 footer with no liner). Awesome boat for the money. Have a Yamaha 200 with a 10" jack plate, boat really moves. Very dry ride in the chop and can get pretty skinny when need to. For what I paid for it, I couldn't touch most of the Bay boats out there.
