Took the class this weekend. I have one question. For any of you divorced people out there, do you have to send the actual divorce decree or can it be a copy?

rustyb 12-13-2015 06:20 PM

I took it this weekend also. And yes you are supposed to get the divorce papers from the courts office.

Gonna go to baton rouge to speed process up

marshrunner757 12-13-2015 06:50 PM

Doing mine online said it saves some time. I thought about making the drive but not gonna do it.

I made the trip to BR and got mine in less than a week. I've heard that online is taking at least 3-5 weeks.

I would say come to Baton Rouge and stop by the store, we are 5 minutes from State police headquarters without traffic... however, I am embarrassed by the lack of inventory right now! People started getting panicky with Paris, and California put people into a full blown panic mode. People are coming in and buying guns off of a list of stuff we are waiting to arrive... Hopefully we catch up some this week with inventory. We are waiting for Hundreds of guns to replace what we sold, it is crazy.

After reading over the app more closely it says not to submit original paper work unless specified. For marital status it says "copy". So, that's what I sent.

Where did you go to get a copy of your divorce Decree? I cant find mine.

Clerk of Courts in the Parish of filing will be able to provide a certified copy.

I had mine put up and also already had a PDF of it on my work PC. Just like pulling it up now and then to put a smile on my face. [emoji4] I would think the courthouse could issue you another one.

Finger prints done and mailed. Now we play the waiting game.

Josh C 12-16-2015 02:13 PM

My wife and I both did ours last month. We made the trip to Baton Rouge for finger prints and to turn in our paper work. I received my card in under 7 days. It took her about 12 days.

I came close to making the drive. But it would kill me to miss a day of fishing to rush my permit.

rustyb 01-27-2016 12:04 PM

I received mine back in about 15 days.

Looks like louisiana is pushing to get away from requiring a permit to carry concealed.
