We got some BIG BUTT SNOW FLAKES over here in Pensacola within the hour. Then it stopped. It did not stick, but I was able to find a snowman.

sorry for such a late responce, but we got about 7 inches here. We still have adout 2 inches on the ground. A lot melted but it's still covering most places. Suppose to get down in the upper 20's tonight. I Hope we get electric soon, the generator loves gas, and OPEC loves money.

quack yall aint got no power. that sucks. hollar at me if yall need some heat i ain't that far

QUACKHEAD 02-12-2010 11:10 PM

Thanks Adam, got the fire place going and propane heater. I cut it all off when I go to bed but sweetie keeps me warm then. The morning is the hard part, cause I gotta get everything goin before she will move. Being so far from civilization, we lose our power three or four times a year for a day or two. The generator stays next to the house in the ready position. Thanks again for the offer of help though.

Back after Rita........lots of people found out that buying a generator.....was cheep.

It is keeping the gas tank full that cost money.

I wired in a remote start on the generator we use in our hunting shack...It sure does make the mornings easier. Lay in bed and push a button. Stay warm Quack....

After Gustav my neighbor left his Gen out front running his AC while he slept........woke up sweating, could still hear Gen outside..........figures the AC broke........he went outside to turn it off and found an old lawnmower running.......no generator.......someone "traded" him........smart thief!!!!! The sound of a loud Gen shutting off would wake me up too!!!

Power came back on @ 7 am. Just after I made coffee and got the generator going. I'm still happy though, can save that gas for the boat.lol We'll get warm now.

lost power at 8 again. Guess it was to tease us, came back on at 9:15. It did give enough time for the cental unit to warm this place up. Maybe they got all the trees off the lines now. Sometimes Salty it's almost like survival training in the military here.
