Found the armada of oyster boats on the south end, I didnt know Cameron had that many boats.
yea what’s the deal with that! I’m not familiar with the oyster regs in the lake... do they do that all year long?

Oyster season ends around April 1st.
They do it certain months of the year and it also depends on water level, temperature and bacteria levels taken by a state man.

There were not near as many oyster fishermen when they had to use manual tongs.
Now that they opened up dredging, everyone is making $300/day before noon.
It is possible to have an oyster license for more than one boat by just one person.
Some greedy oyster fishermen catch 4 or 5 limits per day, on different boats.
Dredges will cut down on the oysters in the lake. But there will still be hard reef bottoms and some small oysters are thrown back in. They don't keep them all.

Weather was fantastic, but water and fishing was not. Water temp was around 56 degrees. Turners was muddier than a sewer ditch. Better water was south, but so was the Oyster Armada. Must be a run on Oysters Bienville as if there wasn't 100 of em there wasn't one.

No fish, but we did test out both the Okuma baitcaster and the spinner and they were awesome to say the least. Let's hope for a solid weather run the next two weeks!!!

That pic is an instant classic....:*****::*****::*****:Thats good stuff right der!!!!

Ray, I thought only certain areas of the lake or a certain reef was open at one time. Is this correct?

and you are dead on about the tongs. Tried it for a little while. You better have a great back.
