If your west of landfall...it really doesn't matter whether or not it intensifies. I remember when Georges made landfall in '98 just west of Biloxi. We had sunny skies and light winds here all day long with a major hurricane less than 100 miles to the east.

Just don't burn leaves and make too much smoke. My neighbor used to do it all the time. Someone called the fire department twice on him. The second time the fire department sent him a bill.

Montauk17 07-22-2010 11:09 PM

I burned some wood a few weeks ago and the fire marshall came to my house!

Dink 07-22-2010 11:11 PM

I have a history with the fire dept on the northside(upper Lafayette for some of you). They sent me a bill once, I called and told them "I didn't call you, why am I getting he bill?" They dropped it........

Micah 07-23-2010 04:09 AM

They have moved its path east........getting close to the Louisiana/Mississippi border

Dink 07-23-2010 07:10 AM

Don't worry Salty, if it hits your area I'll be heading that way to see about our camp.

This will not be a wind event. All we are expecting is tons of rain. However, this system is very small so we might not even get much.

Where's your "camp"?
