No disrespect intended

Neither one. I'm about to start at Wal Mart for loss prevention (kicking out shop lifters kinda like indercover work). My cousin is married to the Ex C.O.P. of Gonzales PD, and my 2 cousins are cops and a whole lot of people I grew up around/with are cops. Gotta wait 2 more years to be hired on as a P/T or F/T cop. But I'm trying to familiarize myself with procedures and codes. No disrespect taken.

Cabelas would seem a little better. But you'd be surprised all the shoplifter reports my cousin has filed in the past 4 months. I think we counted about 40 reports.

I hope to make at least detective after about 10 years of being on the force if it works out the way I want it to. But if it don't oh well.

Never met an honest fair cop just looking to protect. It's all about harassing and collecting.
99 percent of cops are idiots That couldn't get a real job or were picked on as kids. And I have cops in my family.

Theyve told me too that it's about the money and getting to your quota for tickets.

If it was about keeping the roads safe they would give free breathalyzers outside the bar instead of sitting there waiting for someone to make a mistake

booyagasha 06-21-2011 01:12 PM

That comment might ruffle some feathers.....

I respect all men who serve to protect; military, police force, etc.

But I will have to agree with "yak", it seems the cops these days are all A-holes.

However, the game wardens seem to have gotten a lot better.

And 99% of blacks are drug dealing gang members. Hell, while we're onto gross generalizations, 99% of mexicans are illegal immigrants!

Do either of these sound like a fair analysis? I don't believe.

My brother, a cop, works with the drug task force as well as the street. He's never mentioned a "ticket quota" but he has mentioned kicking in doors and taking 2 and 3 yr old kids out of meth labs. His whole team takes great pride in doing things like this! I guess he's an "a-hole" for messing up meth labs and helping kids!

I'm sure he wouldn't mind the title.;)

yak'em-n-stack'em 06-21-2011 01:27 PM

I respect those who put their life on the line to protect me and my country.

But toolbag cops that stand and give seatbelt tickets in intersections while people are actively being murdered robbed and harassed by "the residents of north baton rouge" is bull.
They arent protecting me. Just trying to pad their salary.
Stop the real crime then worry about the petty stuff

As do I, it takes alot to do it.
Some cops are A-holes but most are actually pretty cool people. They're just doing their job. And in that job description, it doesn't say don't be an A-hole.

There 2 types of cops. The ones who are bad mofo's (your brother/ drug task forces and undercover etc) and then you have the patrollers. Those are the ticket quota guys.

This is the way I look at it and I've found it to be true once I looked back at the times I've gotten stopped. Two of my tickets I got while having a bad day and was a bit of a ***** myself, guess what, that's the only 2 times the cop was a ***** back at me. The other few times I've gotten stopped I was nice and polite to the cops and they were the same in return. It's very simple, if you don't want to get stopped then don't break the law!!

Duck Butter 06-21-2011 02:34 PM

Cops and GWs can be a-holes if they want if you axe me. A cop never knows when he pulls someone over (even if its a little seatbelt violation) if this person he is approaching has a gun and is willing/going to use it. A game warden goes up to people who HAVE guns with many shells/bullets usually, so...I would probably be a little edgy as well. You guys are missing the 10% rule though that states:

10% of everyone is an a-hole. 10% of cops, 10% of game wardens, 10% of cashiers, wal-marks checkers, etc.(insert any profession). I hate 99% of the people who skybust ducks though:grinpimp:

flounder_smacker 06-21-2011 05:39 PM

most patrol cops and state troopers are tools. i know several and they are tools. if any of you travel hwy90 heading west at any given time they have TWO state troopers at the hwy88 overpass and they will write tickets for 56 in a 55. trust me i KNOW. its chickensh*t like that is why they get no respect and they are *****s about it too. i got stopped the other day by a trooper for a no signal. this toolbag freaks out on me ask if i have a weapon in the truck, i say yes because its the law. this dude pulls his sidearm not pointing at me but just on his side. goes in my truck i tell him where it is then he brings it to his car and runs the numbers????? then i get pissed i was about to be on walton and johnson taser reports. told him i was bringing him to court for police brutality for a NO SIGNAL..... told him i was calling another officer to the scene then he gave me my pistol which he unloaded clip and all then said i could go and didnt write a ticket or anything. if i ever see this guy off duty hes getting stomped

Now as for the Chargers, police departments generally keep cars for around 4-6 years and then SELL them to Taxi companies or other departments and even civilians. The Crown Vics are about to stop being produced or have been ceased in production already. I may not be all right in this response, but come roll across me when I get on either with Gonzales Police or Sorrento Police, and I'll further explain it. I'd rather write a ticket to a speeder rather than an accident report with a fatality.
