I would go up against at 250 sho.... I bet I could take it,,,,, 1st part is you have to know how to drive a boat..not any dummy can run a boat to full potential.....a 250 sho on a 24ft Hayine would run....but Merc is faster!!! Paint it Black!

You cant paint it black to make it go faster brother, its got to be born that way!

Prop shaft snapped in half. They said it was just a freak thing that it is not common. Supposedly the generation 2 verado's like the one I have are much stronger. They had to replace my entire lower unit but they are replacing it with the new heavy duty Verado Pro lower unit. My engine only has 35 hours on it. I am going to keep the boat for the rest of the year and see how I feel in January. If that 300 SHO is out I may see about trading mine in. It would be smart to keep it another year. That being said if it happens again my wife will make me get a new one. Speaking of junk do not get me started on a Talon anchor system that is another long story. |
Fool I duno about all that Mercs at the top of the food chain when it comes to top end. Spoken from a proud Hammer owner.

If they only knew how much as a website owner I plan to bash them (Minnkota) if they screw me over. |
I cant say the same Brenda the lady who answers the phone was more than willing to send me any part I needed, but nobody knew why this thing was not working. If mine fails again, I will, I repeat WILL have a new one or a power pole on my boat. I threw a cajun anchor for too many years to spend a Grand on an electric anchor for looks.

If I remeber correctly it runs 72?
Their are a handfull of flats/ semi bay boats running in the upper 60's/ low 70's Pathfinder fusion, Shearwater X22, Yellowfin Hybrid, Hews, Stearling 22, Majek 21.5, but few True bay boats are coming close to those speeds with 225's and 250's on them.

Thanks but I'm set for now. If I ever did upgrade it would probably be a 24 YF.
What size motor?
300 or 350
If I go solo with half tank...I can hit 67mph....I don't think that boat can run 72....but I would love to take a pic of him chasing me...once he hit choppy water....I promise he is doing 50 or less.....real chop under 30.....

Its a 21 ft. Low Tide. 250 Yammy SHO hanging off the rear.
I'm not saying 67 is not possible in your boat with a deuce and a 1/4, but I sure would like to see it.
