But with all that said, the cca wouldn't go for it. Just as they pushed and got the limits change for BL fo trout, they will do the same for us with fish such as the Triple tail. And yes I don't care for the way that the cca uses it power to regulate .They didn't work with or take the scenetific data for trout from the biologists, even if mr drost thinks they did.

so what your saying is that politics can be swayed by John Q. Public correct...so if you see something as a threat to your fishery you can go to Jindal or whomever and tell them its not right and he will go oh oh okay John I'll make sure it doesn't happen  CCA may not have made great decisions on things but who else has the political muscle to make a difference?

Go to the WLF headqtrs, talk to Mike Harbison, he'll tell you what he knows of what the cca's involvment of what happen with the trout limit's on BL was. And yes I was A member of the GCCA when we were getting the nets out of the water, but with some of the veiws of the and ( I know better tan the boilogists) on making lawmakers change fishery limits with the data to support it. I don't support cca anymore. And if you can tell me why the limits were changed on BL, please do.........

Mike Harbison also said we didn't need to get rid of the gill nets!!

NOPE....Just trying to get a feel for real numbers from real people!!! I would rather there word than someone in BR with a slacks and tie on....You know the ones who never fish but yet make the rules!!!

cmdrost 07-13-2011 03:05 PM

Yeah cause the internet is soo reliable for good real info from real people who hide behind fake names...

Case in point...here's a 16 lb trout caught somewhere between Breton Sound or FL....different reports from different real people....hahaha

So we are not a reliable source because most of us have screen names??? We are all fisherman with a valid opinion of our fisheries and I don't think anyone is hiding here.

Forgot that we are all fake just because we use screen names.

"W" 07-13-2011 04:37 PM

I know 82 votes that said they never caught a 3 tail is legit...why vote o? I would say more of the higher end votes would be less believable than 0

there is a chance that some numbers could be skewed b/c of a person's (screen name) affinity for W.

Layman's terms for W:

Some people may BS vote because they love to hate internet W.

cmdrost 07-13-2011 04:46 PM

poll taking 101...never ask just one question. You could build a much stronger case by asking multiple questions. How many of the 82 tried to catch 1? If none of those 82 tried, then you've got a great case that they aren't targeted, BUT if 82 people tried but just couldn't catch em, well then thats a whole other story. Just an example......usually need at least 3-5 questions to gather the whole story.

well here is my take.i some times get a chance to run a trash line and i do look for them due to working offshore all of my adult life i found out about triple tail before they were talked about.and i would always have my small rod ready for a grass line coming thru or one swimming around the legs and straight to the grease,i especialy loved when i hade some platforms close to the beach.i rather triple tail than ling.

chasin'tail 07-13-2011 08:18 PM

I don't know, does a marine boilogist know about a body of water that he's worked for 30 years, or or lets say a furniture salesman? I'd go with the biologist, but that just me, some think they know what their talking about...others do.
