Cough cough...Drumroll please....

I am pleased to announce that, a member, one that I won't name, has offered to take one lucky Salty Cajun on a duck hunt for their donation!!!! From what I hear and have seen, this is a duck hunt that most would LOVE to get in on!

When the donation part of our Christmas families is complete, I will put all of the donor's names in a hat and we will draw the winner of the duck hunt with....Who's offering this is a surprise!;)

Not that we should need a reason to donate to this but, this would be a good one for me! Thank you so much for your generosity Mr. "......":D

Alright guys.......turkey day is out of the way, so now it's time for Christmas. I just made a donation to the saltycajun Christmas fund to help out 2 families in need of a hand up to help make their Christmas a joyous occasion.

I challenge everyone to dig into your pockets and send what you can to help get this thing going. If we could just get everyone to send in a $20 bill, we can turn this into another successful saltycajun mission.

Come on ladies and gentlemen......dig in your pockets..;)

And Merry Christmas!!!

southern151 11-27-2011 02:08 PM

I just received another $100 donation! Thanks guys! We're picking up nicely!

Alright fellas, it's been a VERY busy day here at the shop today!...Just ask Johnny! (Sorry I didn't have more time to bs today buddy!) Anyway, as of right now, I've recieved 3 more donations worth a combined total of $105! Thank you so much for the generosity fellas!

As best I can tell, unofficially, we have somewhere in the neighborhood of $1500 promised or received already. With that being said, we are well on our way but, have a ways to go yet! Figure that we have 8 kids, all 12 and under as well as 4 adults.

I appreciate all of the generosity and support! Keep it going fellas! You're doing a great deed here that will surely brighten some kid's days and release some stress from some deserving parents!

jdm4x43732 11-28-2011 05:07 PM

Ok guys, I was finally able to get the sizes for the "West Side" family. 5 boys
3 month old wears 3-6 and 6-9 month clothes.
20 month old, wears 2T clothes, likes to play with trains.
4 yr old, wears 4T clothes, likes to play football, basket ball, etc. Sports.
6 yr old, Size 6 clothes, likes to play games, and loves Spiderman.
3 yr old, wears 3T and loves toy trucks.

Guys we are really ready to kick this thing into high gear, we have a little over 2 weeks to go before we would like to start the shopping. We will take donations up to the last possible minute but it would make it easier on the volunteers if we could start the shopping around Dec. 15th.

PS thanks Southern151 for the gumbo today.

jdm4x43732 11-29-2011 09:34 PM

Corey, i just sent $150 that I collected today to your paypal acct. I also picked up 50lbs of rice.

southern151 12-01-2011 09:14 PM

I'm currently working on some of my vendors to make some donations on this. Let's keep this going guys!

southern151 12-02-2011 09:34 AM

Ok, to date, we have only raised $745. I have another $1000 promised but, it won't be here until Monday. Of this, only $645 has come from us, the people of the SC. I have yet to make my donation which will likely be another couple hundred bucks. At $645 and 4285 members, that's a whopping $.15 per member donated so far! Surely, this isn't the best that we can do.

We're running short on time, guys. Please, help out if ya can!

jdm4x43732 12-02-2011 12:10 PM

I still have to make my donation also, which will be a couple of Ben Franklins. I'll send the paypal when my deposit is made on 12/8.

southern151 12-02-2011 12:34 PM

Just received a $25 donation! Thank you very much!

Well I got another volunteer to help with the "West Side" Family. Thanks for everyone who is stepping up to the plate and helping make this a success.

Bluechip 12-04-2011 08:24 PM

Whats the status Southern??? Do you have a certain dollar amount it will take to make it a success???

Come on guys.....turn loose of some cash!!

eman 12-04-2011 09:10 PM

I been unemployed for over a year. Only gone fishing 3 times in 2011. Didn't buy a hunting license cause i knew the money wasn't there to go hunting. But i'm kicking in $100+ to this cause . Why? because there's those out there worse off than i am.
EVERYONE can pass on one case of beer or one bottle of booze or give up just one fishing trip and kick in $20.
If everyone of us just pitched in $20 these folks on the west and east side will probably have the best Christmas of their lives.
C'mon folks it's $20 ,Bring lunch from home for a couple of days and that will cover it.
Off my Soapbox now.
On edit, Just wanted to thank the guy who took me fishing for real cheap. Thank's bud.

Our east side family has been tough to get "gathered" up on this, to say the least! Being that we are trying to keep this anonymous, it's hard to pry without blowing the cover. We finally was able to talk to the boys in the family this weekend and here's what we have...

David is 10. He is huge into bream and bass fishing.

Travis is 9 and he is just like his older brother. ANYTHING OUTDOORS!!

Jacob is 6 and his hobbies aren't as clearly defined but, he sure was proud to show off that he recently lost his first tooth!

I know the descriptions are vague at best but, here again, I am trying not to get busted on what we are doing. Before the 15th, I will have a better idea of what all of the boys are in need of and, a few of the things they may want from Santa.

We are well on our way to making a couple of families Christmas a great one! Thanks to all of you for your help in this matter! My hat's off to all of you and I'm incredibly humbled to be surrounded by a great group of guys!
