I can understand that. There is hardly a day goes by in the blind when someone in a neighboring field sky busts some geese and flares birds I had working. Same concept as people killing your bite. I've just accepted that its part of it, that's just how some people hunt. I bet trolling by saying "hey man, not trying to be a ******head, but when you did _____, you killed my bite" would help out your situation and probably takes less time than your figure 8s

It happened to me & him (W) fishing the SC tourney last year. We got on a decent bite & some dudes trolled right in the middle of our bite & screwed up everything!!!!!!!!:pissed: Ask Jude! He was a 100 yards from us. Believe me the guy was told what he did wrong & he wanted to get pissy. Both of us were ready for a fight! Total disrespect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love speck fishing but don't like the A holes that come with it or maybe it's the lack of knowledge! Don't know why but freshwater fisherman seem to have alot more respect for one another.

I understand his point too, just not the way its delt with sometimes. I fight it everytime I fish , they love guide boats.

I wasnt saying you did wrong . Just giving an example that I know what its like to be all alone on a reef and look back to see a crowd behind you . You know there was way too many boats on that spot.

Your right......and I drifted behind two guide boats who picked up zero and on our 2nd drift...They trolled back up wind and I drifted off and came around....they set anchor and I drifted pass them and picked up 5 trout quick .....

They did not come in on me at all...I was shocked

A figure 8 would have been the least of that dudes problem if We could have caught up with him. Plus "many" more I've had dealings with. BL is the worst! I've fished all over the gulf coast & nothing compares other than Grand Isle.

Well I grew up bass fishing & that's just something you don't do. And it seems everyone one else bass fishing knew it. Don't understand how saltwater effects the brains of others to be asinine.

Some things never change....dude asks about power poles and someone with special needs uses it as fuel to tell everyone that he is the trout god.

Getting back on topic, I know several guides on big lake that have a power pole and live it. Buy one, I have never heard a power pole owner that wishes he would not have bought the product. I have a talon, it has been junk. The two power poles I had were great.

You want to Stop.....on a Drop........ $50 vs $1500 Works on reefs , mud/ deep water and high winds......

If you want to take water over the deck........Drop it in 35mph winds

ckinchen 04-22-2012 09:54 PM

That anchor is the best one I have seen offshore. I have held my boat in 40 feet with that one anchor when others will not catch.

bjhooper82 04-22-2012 10:06 PM

That thing looks bad arse!! Do yall have a website where i can check one of those out"?

jchief 04-22-2012 10:08 PM

That is the same anchor I have.

I would love to have a pole also. Maybe one day.

Think there is a time and place for both anchors. Sometimes both at the same time

Montauk17 04-22-2012 10:16 PM

That is the anchor I use, holds good.....for shallow mud bottom I just bought a stick it aka poor mans power pole.

Thats the badest anchor around....I just got one not too long ago....

just set it down soft in the water and it will grab and HOLD......

Its going to work good fishing on the channel with strong tides....you will not get pulled off anchor

Make sure they tell you how to "rig" it. Put the end of the rope on a clevis above the flukes and use tie wraps on the end. This way if it hangs up, you can push on the rope and break the tie wrap and pull the anchor out backwards.

bullers 04-23-2012 10:18 AM

Would not have a boat without a power pole works great reef or no reef get the new 10ft.you won't be sorry works anywhere in the lake i use it when i'am working birds you still need a anchor if you fish the ship channel

I never said that a power poll was useless but guy wanted to know if it holds on reefs... From what I have seen...its holds on reefs with little to no wind...does not hold if its choppy or good breeze

Its good for bank fishing and birds ...but useless in 7ft of water or deeper .....

If you don't have two of them...you don't have much option on boat position

Guess I'm old school......all the new lazy ways of fishing are not my style.... I rather use what I know works in all conditions than have 5 attachments for 5 different conditions when one works for all

A about the best advantage a power poll has is working birds....you can hold and not blow though them if its windy

What year is your boat?

How old are your fishing poles?
