Maybe the "Reel" Fisherman should have got off the water and went and fought against it in Baton Rouge. With all of the knowledge and time spent fishing, the powers to be wouldn't have turned a blind eye to that.

Can we get "REEL FISHERMAN" defined since we now know what an "OFFICE FISHERMAN" is

Matt G 06-05-2012 04:55 PM

If there is a job out there that I can fish as much as I would like to and actually be able to afford it, PM me the details cause I'm all in! Until that day I'll call myself an outdoor's enthusiast, because that's what I thought fishing was all about.

So they're the guys that care so much about fishing that they let the office fisherman go get the laws changed while they fish?

I fish 50 or so times a year. I get a lot of joy from catching fish, getting my children on the fish, helping their friends catch fish, and making new friends centered around catching fish. I enjoy eating the fish that we catch three times a week. LA fish once a week, and CO fish twice a week. My wife is preparing redfish for dinner even as we speak.

I've managed to start up a quantitative fisheries science research program, so I get to get paid for thinking about fisheries science, weighing and measuring fish, reading the scientific literature on various fisheries question, analyzing data related to fisheries science, and preparing reports and publications.

Definition of a REAL fisherman: someone who's very livelihood comes from fishing. Not meaning his living, meaning he lives because he fishes, I.e., his only food comes from the water and no where else. Lives and dies by the fish.

I don't know man, you are offshore 30 days in a row, in class now and then get to go say every other day when you are home. When it all averages out, you may be in the office league with us.

Office duck hunter for sure. But I have bought more decoys than Bass Pro and leased mutliple blinds in two states so I am trying to move up the chain. I have a long way to go.... Great sport, amazing actually and what is really cool is my son who turned 9 today is as eat up with it as I am. I hope this something we do together as long as I can still get around.

SULPHITE 06-05-2012 07:29 PM

"W" 06-05-2012 07:36 PM

You office fisherman would be pissed if you had a little rich boy that worked with u and he said,,to his other little rich friend..let's go to the CEO and tell him to change our work hours to 25 hours a week instead of 40hours...Hell they don't need the money just think they don't need to work 40hours so everyone gets cut hours..

Hummmmm

Man 25 hours a week sounds awesome! But I'm salary so I get paid the same regardless right?

fishinpox 06-05-2012 08:14 PM

A few years ago I'd fish 2-3 days a week but now as my business continues to grow its more like 4-5 times a month if I'm lucky which I'm cool with . In my eyes growing my business and making more money trumps fa&&ot trout... Just saying . One day I might buy big lake and make w's limit 1 trout and force him to fish the stalls at Herbert's for hard heads !!

I love it, that would be awsome. Lease me the marsh around the south west side for duck hunting.

I used to fish all the time but I'm busy trying to sling beef now. I can go pretty much anytime i want but i like to make money and when i take time off it hurts my pocket. I don't work inside for the majority of the time and I don't have any kind of regular schedule. Where do I fall in there?
