Absolutely! Guides who are sponsors can advertise on their reports, retailers who are sponsors can post their merchandise in the Classifieds, etc. To a point, of course. ;)

Its not even like its a big deal..but now we cant even have signitures anymore...thats like obama taking away our guns...If it wasnt for half of us memebers (not premium members) no sponsors would even wanna be here cause this site woulda died around june...but we all had the same opinions and decided to give it a shot...

HH......if I understand this right, I'm pretty sure this is how the website makes money. So they offer perks and upgrades to members who choose to to support the site. IF you dont want the perks, dont pay for the membership.

please don't let this site become a guide advertising depot like LSM is...damn near every report is about how some guide is tearing up the fish down in whereever...EVERYTHING is about making money on that site, i understand you guys got to pay the bills though.........or how bout a separate forum for the guides to post their reports so they dont clog up or overshadow the average fisherman's reports?

It has nothing to do with "being better than" anyone. People that help pay the bills get some perks. I pay a lot of money out of pocket (not to mention my time) to keep the site running, and I assure you, I'm not making any profit. And sponsorships are cheap, as will be the premium memberships. For $5k you can buy my part of the entire site. ;)

just as long as the premium area doesnt turn the non paying area into nothing. we need new members to grow and if everyone is premium then new people wont know what to do when they come to the site and nothing has been posted in the general area in days

There won't be a premium "area" of the forum, per se. People who pay a few bucks a month will just get some premium features. I hope to have this ready by the end of the weekend. I think it'll be a pretty cool addition to the forum, and help me pay the bills without having a bunch of sponsor ads everywhere. ;)

If I install the code that allows people to create private forums of their own, it will cost quite a bit more. I'm not sure if that's going to happen or not, though...I'm weighing the pros and cons of it.

SHADMAN, post a sticky of how much it will run us. Will there be a discount if we pay per year ?? We get decals or shirts at a special price ?? Maybe make it a package deal ??
