Fine use of those elusive tax dollars.

If USCG is involved, it is federal funds.

huntin fool 07-23-2013 06:36 PM

Either way, it's pointless. I watched them pull today right around the corner. We are talking logs that have zero relevance to safe boating, etc.
logs running parallel to the bank not 5 ft from the trees and they are pulling them

One barge is stopped just to the north of the first house visible by river on South Perkins Ferry.

Don't know if it will do any goo, but I emailed Charles Boustany, Mary Landrieu and David Vitter.

I think if everyone would do that, we would get a response.

I did read an article on the problem w/ giant salvina in the river and that once it hit the salt water it would die. All the tree tops and logs will keep the salvina from floating down stream and reaching salt water??? The artical did say they were using weevils for control above a certain point on the river.

Tygertailgater 08-07-2013 06:33 AM

Anyone know if they are still at it? Was wondering if they finished.

huntin fool 08-07-2013 10:20 AM

"W" 08-07-2013 12:25 PM
