I hope we can get enough boats together and that the weather cooperates that we can find room for everyone. Not sure what space I have right now left in my ride but lets give this a few more days to develope and then we'll see what rigs we have going out. If we bottom fish I might be able to add a couple of more people to the boat. I can carry 6 if seas are cooperative and we bottom fish. If the currents are strong we may have to fish in shifts while others are napping or popping can tops. lol I have trolling gear but I am open to jigging. I mainly want a meat haul. I wants sum feesh in da ice box. That will probley be my last weekend this year, got several work travels come up. I might also go out Friday also if there are any other boats wanting to buddy up with us. All of this depends on the weather and sea conditions. The answer to the beach bash thing is, if we load the ice chest up early, I was thinking I might just go to the beach and anchor the boat a hundred yards out or so after fishing. Lots of maybe's due to the seas. I think if we go out early, we'll be ready to come back in around 2-3 pm. The Bash should be getting warmed up about that time.

When does snapper season end? I just had a baby but think I can talk my way into getting one more crack at snapper. Would probably have room for 2.

On the 24th I think

QUACKHEAD 07-12-2010 10:31 AM

OK, right now we have possibly 6 boats, my boat, long cast , Purple Back, Adam, Duckco, and maybe Marlin50lrs. There are a few guys without boats that would like to go and will help with expenses. I already have two and can take up to 3 more, but 2 more would be better. Also, who is planning for Friday, Saturday or both. I am planning for both days.

simplepeddler 07-12-2010 10:34 AM

Don't let Ross work the net on your boat.

He will miss on a world record fish

Snapper season closes July 23 at midnight. Don't know why they did this on a Friday Night. You would think they would close it on a Sunday night for the weekend warrior guys, like me. Now I gotta go on the 23rd. to get some snapper.

QUACKHEAD 07-12-2010 05:28 PM

Any other boats planning for the 23rd? I would like to buddy boat out. Cameron or Grand Chenier area.

Dink 07-12-2010 06:29 PM

All offshore louisianna waters are now closed to fishing......check the new update

QUACKHEAD 07-13-2010 08:14 AM

Not so fast dinkster, Looking at the map it shows from the coast out to about 25 miles. So as it stands now, If we go past this mark, we should be ok. I am planning around 40-50 miles out, maybe a little more. We will have to watch for changes, but hopefully the cap will work and the waters will be cleared to fish.

Ray 07-13-2010 02:02 PM

That is correct. I heard it was closed to 20 miles out.

QUACKHEAD 07-13-2010 04:05 PM

Right Ray, I got the coords from the thread you left the link on. It's about 20 miles out of Calcasieu pass south then your in open water. It does angle SE so I printed the map with the coord's so I can make sure I try to stay legal.
