smacker...your mom just called. She said go cut the grass so you can have 10 more dollars to go towards your boat. Go play outside like the rest of the kids and let the grown ups talk. Some peoples children have no respect.

5'ers are not bad, if they are far apart.
3'er can kick you arse if they are close enuff for your bow to fall in the trough before the next one hits you. Wave distance has a lot to do with a ride.

The ship channel in the jetty's has big rollers, it all depends on the tides and winds.

I'd love to see a rolled gunnel 21 foot bay boat eating up 5 foot rollers 70 miles offshore out of Cameron tuna fishing in a hundred foot of water.?...lol

Fished tuna out of a 24ft champ in 1200 ft of water in 3 to 4 ft rollers....I'm just saying my boat can handle 5ft waves if need be...I don't even want to fish in 3ft....

Edwards....how big were those swells we hit in cocodrie??? I know when we hit the bottom all you saw was water in front and back...and boat disappeared

Ray 04-22-2011 10:18 AM

I don't want to be in 5' waves in any 21 ft. boat.
Unless it is long swells. Wind waves, screw dat.

Salty 04-22-2011 10:23 AM

W figures them waves are every bit as tall as him. When you're 4' tall.....it's hard to judge distance.

I know I was just messin...the MRGO gets crazy rollers in it...I was in a 18 foot rolled gunnel nitro bay boat once in huge rollers and the walls were buckling and shaking and ****... Didn't help my big *** was in it but I was thankful to make it back that day.

Also back to subject nautical star is economical but not a triton...if u wanna look at something a lil bit cheaper than triton but I think actually think rides as good is the 23 hydra sports... It's a heavy boat like the triton with a great ride.

funny you two think im a kid. ask your lover w why he has a kid on his ignore list? :rotfl: im not trying to start crap like he does. when people who have no idea about boats and water read this and think they can run 5 footers in a 20foot bay boat then they go out and capsize and go missing thats the problem. yeah you can take any boat offshore as long as its calm and you know the weather. but a lot of people just dont know and dont have the experience of being in a bad situation.

Chub, you rode in a White Water?

bayouchub 04-24-2011 09:40 PM

And a haynie z21

Salty 04-24-2011 09:46 PM

White Water was made here in Bogalusa by Louisiana Fiberglass. As many of those boats as they were selling....I was shocked when they "went under".

bayouchub 04-24-2011 09:58 PM

Yea, great riding boat. I just can't understand why guys on this forum go so crazy over a haynie after riding in one. It's a nice boat. But it's a simple concept. Not much technology involved. Horsepower to weight ratio. Havnie is a lightweight, low freeboard, single wall roll gunnel, low deadrise, 21ft boat that will take a 225hp outboard. It is not incredible for it to go 68mph. I just don't get it.

biggun 04-24-2011 10:15 PM

Guys

Blackjack???? Not even close to Triton!!! Narrow little transom! 24 LTS is the only thing if you're fishing the coast. On a good day can go out 50 miles also.

specknation 04-24-2011 10:15 PM

Whitewater boats went out of business because of the owner also owned Country Stop Marine in Mandeville that defaulted. Whitewater boats had a cult follwing like Haynie, for many of the same reasons. The Whitewater bay boat was made more for rought water than the Haynie a lot drier and softer ride, but does draft more water.

This is not exactly true. I know these people very well. Only speculation.
