I was thinking of a trophy and cash. What do you guys think?

The other prizes will be items or gift certificates.

Maybe a Ranger Bass boat with a 200. :spineyes::pissed:

Top Dawg is right. Game wardens ruined it. You have to have some type of permit to put on a tournament, which this is what they consider a tourny. Almost shut the jug hunt down one year at Teppy's.

Funny story. We was all lined up under the bridge waiting for the shotgun to go off. Me and my Welsh crew in my boat with a 40 on it. One of my buds in my boat was havin words with one of his buds next to us in a big bass boat. Bass boat man was goin on and on about how he was gonna smoke us off the line. Well all me and my pudnah had to do was look at each other to devise a plan. I distracted Mr. Bass boat, admiring his trollin motor, while my buddy unplugged his fuel line from his motor. We all idling as the gunman strolled out onto the bridge to send us off. He shoots the gun and we all drop the hammer. Bass boat man goes about 10 inches when his motor dies. He was left under the bridge in a toiling torrent of washing machine water!! It made our whole day!!!

Bump

Guys it's going down this weekend at Lorraine Bridge!
Talked to the Game Wardens and was informed that I do not need a permit of any kind. However I will have everyone sign a release so the Knights of Columbus are not liable for any injuries that may be sustained during the event.

Just a reminder: My friend (Game Warden) told me that I should inform everyone that is illegal to ride on the bow of your boat when the motor is under way and they should not be driving while intoxicated.

Can you clarify......never heard of this Law.

Does this just mean you can not sit on the front with your legs hanging down? Or you can not sit in the front "fishing" seat while the boat motor is pusing the boat?

Purple Back 07-06-2011 12:15 PM

From what I understand, you can not ride on the bow while the you big motor is underway.
However, I will not be disqualifying anyone for this, just stating that if GW sees you doing it, he could give you a ticket.

Correct, or anywhere on the front deck. Cant sit on seat or floor of front deck as long as motor is underway.

Your butt has to be below the sides of the boat, been that way as long as I can remember, always wondered how it was legal to drive a bay boat standing....????? Just never questioned it, just went with it.

Top Dawg 07-06-2011 01:53 PM

You can sit on the bow with your feet hanging down in the boat. But can't sit in seat. Game warden told me this a long time ago. I threw a guy out one time that was sittin in the seat on the bow.

Gerald 07-06-2011 07:44 PM

OK......what about when you are approaching a dock at idle speed.

Can you legally stand on the bow......to catch the boat?

I now assume, that sitting or standing on the bow.....while the motor is running and moving the boat, is not allowed.

Got a warning for sitting on my buddy's flatbottom's front seat when I was 10.. My buddy was 13. They just was harassing. Think we got told warnings on like 8 different things that day..

Crab trap, life jacket had a tear, Whistle wasn't loud enough, measured all of our fish (all 25 trout and 10 reds), and told me I can't sit on deck seat, but I could sit on the deck with feet in bottom boat

The real problem was that you were catching to much fish for your age. You were making the older guys look bad.:)
